Buddhism is not a religion but is more on a system of life's philosophy and code of morality. It began with the life of Siddhartha Gautama during the sixth century BC, who was born in grove named Lumbini near the ancient town of Kapilavastu in the Shakyaclan that belonged to the warrior caste. Today the prince of Lumbini is known to the world as "Lord Buddha". In this tour we take you to several major attractions of Buddhists in the country where the architectural monuments related to Lord Buddha still stand as testimonials of Buddhist doctrines and way of life. This package includes a trip to Lumbini, KushiNagar, Sravasti - the capital of the ancient kingdom of Kosala, has the honour for sheltering Buddha for 24 rainy seasons in the Jetvana Gardens, ancient Nalanda university, Bodhgaya, sight seeing of Varanasi and Agra is also included in his package.

 

Day 1: Arrival Delhi
On arrival you will be received by our representative and check in to the hotel. Delhi is among the fastest growing and developing cities in the world and is home to many architectural delights, and is also a shopper's haven and a food lover's paradise. This delightful city is also the national capital of India.

Day 2: Delhi
Embark on a city tour of Delhi. Explore the heart of India. The tour will cover Qutab Minar, Humayun's Tomb, India Gate, Red Fort, Jama Masjid, Gandhi Memorial and more.

Day 3: Delhi - Jaipur

Drive to Jaipur after breakfast. Check in at hotel after arrival.
The city of royalty, grandeur and opulence, Jaipur is also known as the 'pink city'. Home to many majestic palaces, forts and other places of interest, Jaipur is the capital city or Rajasthan.

Day 4: Jaipur
Enjoy a city tour of Jaipur and an excursion to Amber Fort. Explore Amber Fort on elephant back. Initially a palace complex, Amber Fort is a remarkable site especially for its hall of mirrors. During the city tour explore Hawa Mahal, Jantar Mantar, City Palace, Nawab Sahab Ki Haveli and Johari Bazar.

Day 5: Jaipur - Agra
Drive to Agra visiting Fatehpur Sikri on the way. On arrival, check in at the hotel and enjoy a sightseeing tour of Agra later.
Fatehpur Sikri is the old deserted town of the Mughal Dynasty and houses impressive structures. In the afternoon visit the Taj Mahal, Agra Fort and the Tomb of Itmad-ud-daulah. Fatehpur Sikri, Taj Mahal and Agra Fort are world heritage sites.

Day 6: Agra - Varanasi

Morning sightseeing of the city covering Red Fort, Itmud-ud-duala Tomb. Later transfer to railway station. Board your overnight train to Varanasi. Overnight on board.

Day 7: Varanasi
Upon arrival, you will be received by our representative & transferred to the hotel. Relax for sometime. Later visit the temples and the ghats of the river Ganges.

Day 8: Varanasi - Bodhgaya
In the morning boat ride in the river Ganges. Later leave for Bodhgaya, enroute visiting Sarnath. Check into the hotel on arrival at Bodhgaya.

Day 9: Bodhgaya
Pay a visit to the Mahabodhi Temples. Later take an excursion to the neighboring Buddhist sites of importance, namely: Rajgir, Nalanda, Sapta Pari Cave and Venevamas. Rajgir was an important Buddhist pilgrimage center, as the Buddha spent 12 years here. The first Buddhist council after the Lord Buddha passed away.

Day 10: Bodhgaya - Vaishali - Kushinagar
Set out for an excursion to Vaishali. Proceed to Kushinagar and check in at hotel on arrival. A very special and relevant site for devout Buddhists, Vaishali is the place where the Buddha delivered his last sermon and announced his impending Nirvana. Observe the splendor of the Ashok Pillar, Lotus tank, Chaumukhi, and more.

Day 11: Kushinagar - Lumbini
Visit the Mahanirvana Temple after breakfast. Later proceed to Lumbini and check in at a hotel on arrival.
The Mahanirvana Temple is a serene, tranquil and holy place. Also visit the modern Japan/Sri Lanka Buddhist center and monasteries.

Day 12: Lumbini - Kapilvastu - Sravasti - Balrampur

Explore Buddhist sites of relevance all day after breakfast. Enjoy observing Ashoka's Pillar (249 BC) rediscovered in the 1890's inside a thick Sal forest, a temple of Mayadevi, the ruins of an old monastery and some new stupas, and in the afternoon proceed to Balrampur visiting Sravasti on the way where you will see the ruins of this ancient city and Jetavana Monastery.

Day 13: Balrampur - Lucknow
Following breakfast, enjoy a city tour of Balrampur. Later proceed to Lucknow and check in at hotel. Lucknow is the capital city of Uttar Pradesh state and also reckoned as the land of Lord Rama. The city is famous for its Awadhi culture, apparel, fabrics and cuisine.

Day 14: Lucknow - Delhi
Explore the sights and sounds of Lucknow after breakfast. Visit tourist hot spots such as Bara Imambara - a masterpiece built without any pillars, beams, girders or any other support and the Rumi Darwaza - a replica of the one in Istanbul and a classic example of Awadh architecture. Transfer to the airport for a flight to Delhi. On arrival, check in at hotel to spend the night.

Day 15: Delhi
Transfer to the Airport to board a flight to your onward destination.
